The Tarata, or lemonwood tree is found throughout New Zealand in lowland forest. When the leaves are crushed they emit a distinctive lemony smell.
These earrings model the distinctive wave-like undulating leaf margins of the Tarata and catch the ambient light in a beautiful way when worn. The earrings are made by hand cutting copper plate, filing, sanding, polishing and patterning with a scribe before colouring. Attached are the classic leaf shaped sterling hooks.
