The Houhere tree is a small graceful tree, with beautiful white star-shaped pure white flowers and the leaves are spear-shaped with distinctive toothed margins. The inner bark separates into lace-like layers, sometimes found washed up on beaches. The flowers are hand-cut from pure silver plate, given a satin finish, textured and fitted to a leaf-shaped drop form which allows the flowers to rotate freely.
