Kawakawa is a pretty coastal shrub with heart shaped long stemmed green leaves and an edible fruit with a distinctive tropical taste and contrasting peppery seeds. The heart shaped leaves remind us of the preciousness of ourselves, the land and our native ecosystems. Each leaf is hand cut from silver plate, filed, drilled, sanded, stamped and attached with gently curved sterling silver wire and jump rings. The central coloured leaf can be produced in red copper, or transparent perspex.
